Mr. Bob Kessel
Mr. Kessel is a retiree of the school district. His most recent position was as Principal of Raytown High School. He also has been a secondary social studies teacher and the district coordinator of the social studies department.

Members

  • Dr. Alan Markley, Superintendent, Standing Member
    Dr. Markley is beginning his first year as Superintendent of Raytown C-2 Schools. Dr. Markley serves as the Superintendent Standing member in accordance to the REF Bylaws.
  • Mrs. Martha Cockerell, Standing Member
    Mrs. Cockerell is the Deputy Superintendent for the Raytown School District. Previously, she was Principal at Hall-McCarter Middle School in Blue Springs and began her professional educator career as a Language Arts Teacher at Blue Springs High School. Both her son and daughter, however, had the good sense to graduate from Raytown High School. Mrs. Cockerell serves as the Administrative Employee Standing member in accordance to the REF Bylaws.
  • Ms. Amy Tittle, Standing Member
    Ms. Tittle is a retired elementary teacher with 31 years of experience in Missouri schools. She currently works at MidContinent Public Library in Raytown. She has one son who went to Raytown Schools and now teaches in the Independence School Dist. Ms. Tittle serves as the Standing member appointed by the Board of Education in accordance to the REF Bylaws.
  • Mrs. Kim Snyder, Standing Member
    Mrs. Snyder is a graduate of Raytown South High. She has two children that have gone through Raytown schools. She is an Art teacher at Raytown South Middle School. She is the designer of our logo and has been a great creative contributor to our efforts. Mrs. Snyder serves as the Certified Teacher Standing member in accordance to the REF Bylaws.
  • Dr. Robert Atkin, Life Member
    Dr. Atkin is a retired past Superintendent of the Raytown School District. Under his leadership, the Raytown Educational Foundation was created in 1992. He chaired the most recent attempt at revising the charter of the City of Raytown.
  • Dr. Grenvell Foraker, Life Member
    Dr. Foraker is a retired past Superintendent of the Raytown School District. He currently is employed by Ford Motor Company as Director of their training facility.
  • Dr. Dale M. Houck, Life Member
    Dr. Houck is a retired past Superintendent of Raytown C-2 Schools. In addition he has served as Superintendent for 18 years in other Missouri Districts. He has also been an English teacher, principal and counselor.
  • Dr. Michael Watkins, Life Member
    Dr. Watkins is a retired past Superintendent of the Raytown School District. He remains active in community organizations and is recognized as a community leader.
  • Mrs. Susie Arnold, 2010 (4th Term)
    Mrs. Susie Arnold is a resident and parent of two daughters who were educated in the Raytown School District. She substituted in the district for 14 years. She is currently a teacher at Pembroke Hill and also teaches summer school in Raytown and at Pembroke.
  • Mrs. Angela Boyd, 2010 (2nd Term)
    Mrs. Boyd owns a pediatric therapy company, 21st Century Therapy, P.C. that provides occupational, physical and speech/language therapy to children with special needs, birth to 21 years. Her child attended Raytown schools graduating from Raytown High School in May 2005.
  • Mr. Al Brown, 2010 (1st Term)
    Mr. Brown is the Director of the Raytown Emergency Assistance Program and is a graduate of Raytown schools. He served several years on the Board of Education and is influential in promoting the foundation through his many contacts in the community.
  • Mrs. Barbara Foley, 2010 (3rd Term)
    Mrs. Foley has been very active in the PTA and has two children that graduated from Raytown High School. Barbara substituted in the Raytown district for 17 years and taught Jr. High Vocal Music for 8 years. She is a graduate of Raytown High School.
  • Mrs. Sally Frederick, 2010 (4th Term)
    Mrs. Frederick is a graduate of Raytown High School in 1963. She taught English at Raytown South High School for 32 years.
  • Mr. William Frederick, 2010 (4th Term)
    Mr. Frederick is a local business executive. He has been very active in assisting our reaching out to local businesses.
  • Mrs. Linda Gerding, 2010 (4th Term)
    Mrs. Gerding has been very active in the PTA. She and her children went to Raytown schools. She is an office manager of a local construction loan financial company. Her organizational skills and leadership have been great assets in our fundraising efforts.
  • Mrs. Mary Alice Kelly, 2010 (1st Term)
    Mrs. Kelly is married to Brian, a 1978 RSHS graduate. Mary Alice is a graduate from MU with a degree in nursing. Her children are attending RMS and RHS. Her youngest child is in preschool with plans to attend a Raytown elementary school.
  • Mr. James Laney, 2010 (2nd Term)
    Mr. Laney is a teacher at Raytown South High School. His previous business as a website consultant has been a great asset to the Board. His five children have all graduated from Raytown South.
  • Mrs. Janet O'Brien, 2008 (1st Term)
    Mrs. O'Brien is a retired Raytown South business education teacher. She is married to Paul Owsley, a pension plan administrator in Des Moines.
  • Mr. Don Orrell, 2010 (4th Term)
    Mr. Orrell is a retired Senior Engineer from Lucent Technologies. He also is a former member of the Board of Education for Raytown. He is very active in community organizations and Telephone Pioneers.
  • Mr. John Renken, 2008 (1st Term)
    Mr. Orrell is a retired Senior Engineer from Lucent Technologies. He also is a former member of the Board of Education for Raytown. He is very active in community organizations and Telephone Pioneers.
  • Dr. Reaner Shannon, 2008 (3rd Term)
    Dr. Shannon is an Associate Dean of the Medical School at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Her daughter is a 1981 graduate of Raytown South High School.
  • Mrs. Kathy Thompson, 2010 (1st Term)
    Kathy has been the secretary for RQS Parents as Teachers program since 1999. She is a 1986 graduate of RHS. Her husband Curt is a 1983 RHS grad. Her daughter Amber is a 2007 RHS grad and is currently attending U.C.M. in Warrensburg. Her son Zach is at RMS. Kathy is active in RHS Sports Boosters and Project Grad.
  • Mrs. Janet Vest, 2008 (3rd Term)
    Mrs. Vest is a former member of the Board of Education of the Raytown school district. She operates a local business in Raytown and remains active in the chamber and community. She is a past-president of the Foundation.
  • Mrs. Shirley Wurth, 2009 (2nd Term)
    Mrs. Wurth retired after 38 years as a teacher/coordinator in the Raytown Quality School District where her most recent position was the Public Information Coordinator. Her community involvement and knowledge of the school district is a great asset to the Foundation.
